Job Knowledge & Scope:
● RMG, in the Cell Culture and Bioprocess Operations department, is responsible for providing support to pre-Early Stage Research to Early Development projects with high-throughput protein production from mammalian transient cultures.
 

Key Responsibilities:
● Perform transient transfections in CHO and HEK293 cells in scales 1mL to 25L to support
pipeline productions adhering to established protocols
● Maintain seed train cell cultures in bioreactors and shake flasks
● Operate liquid handlers - Tecan and Hamilton for automated processes
● Operate wave bag reactors for productions and cell maintenance
● Maintain and troubleshoot key cell culture instruments such as Vi-Cell, Nova Flex2, Nova Flex, Cedex and bioreactors
● Participate in troubleshooting production or platform processes
● Participate in lab management and data management.
● Contribute to improving existing cell culture platforms and developing new platforms to
deliver diverse protein and cellular reagents to enable a large number of research programs.

The candidate must be highly self-motivated, organized, detail oriented and responsive to feedback. The candidate is expected to precisely follow written procedures, practice sterile technique, demonstrate accurate documentation skills, and report deviations in a timely manner. They should be able to work independently within guidelines and policies, with minimal guidance.

Qualifications Required:
● PhD (with 0-2yrs relevant experience) in Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related fields
● Suspension adapted mammalian cell culture (CHO and/or HEK293)
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have strong collaborative skills.

Preferred:
● State-of-the-art transient and stable protein expression experience
● Relevant bioreactor experience
● Hands-on experience with automation and liquid handlers like Tecan Freedom Evo and
Hamilton Microlab Star
● Knowledge of cell biology, cell engineering, molecular biology, recombinant protein
purification and protein characterization is preferred

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position: $48.00/hour-$62.11/hour
