Scientist (contract position), Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology Department, Genentech
We have a contract position opening for a talented Scientist 1 to join our Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology (BCP) Department within Genentech’s Research and Early Development (gRED) organization. This is a hands-on, laboratory based position.
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for developing, validating and executing innovative biochemical and cellular assays to support small molecule drug discovery projects. The candidate will work closely with BCP Scientists and may collaborate with other functional areas including Structural Biology, Chemistry and Cheminformatics
Who You Are
• Completed MS in Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field, with 1-2 years of wet-lab experience in academia or biotechnology
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and biochemical assays
• Excellent teamwork, communication, time management, and organizational skills
Additional desirable skills
• Experience with cell based fluorescent and luminescent assays
• Experience with recombinant protein /protein interaction assays is a plus
• Practical experience in the design, development, validation and execution of experiments while not required, is highly desired
• Familiarity with data analysis methods and software, including automated dose-response measurements, is advantageous
• Familiarity with automated or semi-automated instrumentation
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $32.68 - $43.57/hr on W2
