Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated contractor Data Analyst with a strong interest in health equity to join our Data & Insights team within the Chief Diversity Office (CDO). In collaboration with the CDO Patient Inclusion & Health Equity team and other health equity partners across the organization, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to advancing inclusive research, improving health equity, and analyzing data to support key diversity initiatives. The

ideal candidate will have a background in data analytics, strong programming skills, experience with clinical trials, and a passion for addressing health disparities. This is a two-year assignment based in our South San Francisco campus.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analytics & Insights

  • Collaborate across the organization to align existing measures, and design and implement new measures, related to inclusive research (IR) and health equity (HE).
  • Analyze data (relational and non-relational) and generate insights to support ongoing and upcoming IR and HE initiatives, including the Advancing Inclusive Research Site Alliance.
  • Identify and address health equity-related data gaps in priority disease areas, including epidemiology and demographic prevalence.
  • Gather reporting and analytics needs from business stakeholders and develop and deliver business-relevant reports/analyses for use by business users.
  • Design, update and/or develop Tableau-based reports and dashboards. Unit testing/QA and UAT when needed.

 

HE Research & Strategy Development

  • Conduct high-level assessments of current HE initiatives within Roche-Genentech, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Research internal HE-related programs and support cross-functional HE teams in developing a holistic HE strategy.
  • Participate in internal/external education, training sessions, and conference preparations related to health equity.

 

Communication & Presentation

  • Prepare and present findings, insights, and recommendations to various stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
  • Create and track metrics of the CDO’s commitments to its foundational pillars: Fostering Belonging, Advancing Inclusive Research and Health Equity, and Transforming Society.
  • Develop data-driven recommendations for IR and HE strategies, leveraging effective and compelling communications and visuals that tell the story that data reflect.

 

Qualifications:

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public health, epidemiology, data science, social sciences, or a related discipline is preferred.

 

Experience & Skills

  • At least one year of experience in a related role, preferably with exposure to health equity or related fields.
  • Strong data analytics skills, with proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SPSS).
  • Experience with research methodologies and the ability to synthesize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Demonstrated clinical trial experience.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment.

 

Additional Qualifications

  • Interest or experience in health equity, including knowledge of health disparities affecting different communities (e.g., race/ethnicity, LGBTQ+, rural populations, patients with disabilities).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage time effectively.

 

Location & Work Hours:

  • Location: South San Francisco campus
  • Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Length of Assignment: 2 years

 

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $40.96 - $54.61/hr on W2
