Temporary Full Time Paralegal:
The Full Time Paralegal works under the supervision and direction of the Head of Litigation and Head of Employment and Labor Law to provide high quality, proactive support on complex legal issues requiring in-depth analysis. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in area of expertise as well as some key contacts outside area of expertise. Assists the Legal team with the management and preparation of documents and other legal processes necessary to comply with federal, state and local regulations in the conduct of business activities. A seasoned professional with wide-ranging experience. Deals with diverse and oftentimes complex issues, where analysis may require in-depth evaluation of many factors. Exercises judgment in evaluating methods and may determine criteria for obtaining solutions. May coordinate the activities of other employees. Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.
The Opportunity:
The Temporary Full Time Paralegal assists the Legal team with the management and preparation of documents and other legal processes necessary to comply with federal, state and local regulations in the conduct of business activities as well as but not limited to:
- Support Litigation and Employment and Labor teams, including building onto existing compliance playbook and other resource documents.
- Daily monitoring and handling of Legal Administration email mailbox
- Entering and maintaining data in company databases and trackers
- Lead and support Litigation and Employment and Labor initiatives and projects as needed
- Assist in responses to subpoenas, requests for discovery, employee record requests, and other litigation related information gathering.
- Helps coordinate Litigation and Employment and Labor matter meetings, depositions, and coordinate with outside counsel.
- Draft, review and revise agreements and other documents, including settlement agreements and standard certificates and resolutions.
- Manage CDA request/submission process, including but not limited to: Generate CDAs, review/revise CDAs, track and follow up as necessary with business and attorneys.
- In collaboration with attorneys, help draft standard templates for regularly utilized forms, and implement processes.
- Manage Case intake, Administer Matter Management system, and other Legal Department systems/tools, run reports and evaluate metrics.
- Manage internal digital Legal Libraries and Knowledge Management.
- Receive/review requests for information; collect, enter and maintain data in various legal systems; manage legal files and logs; schedule meetings and calls; provide status updates; identify warning signs for legal matters; assist in prioritization of various tasks within different legal processes; ensure that attorneys are aware of pending deadlines
- Assist with routine requests from the Business related to Records Management
- Coordinate the company’s responses to third party records requests for employee / former employee records
- Assist with resolving tickets submitted to our support queue for our Cornerstone training platform
- Perform miscellaneous administrative functions for the Legal Team, as requested by the Legal Team and/or Manager of Operations
Who you are:
- CLA/CP paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited school
- Five years of relevant experience, in a high-performing, fast-paced, dynamic law firm and/or in-house legal environment
- Thorough knowledge of legal principles, practices, terminology, and research techniques.
- Must be computer literate and tech savvy
- Proficiency with related computer applications, PowerPoint, Excel spreadsheets, word processing, and legal and other database applications.
- Experience with or willingness to learn Google Workspace applications including but not limited to: Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Meet, Google Chat, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Forms, Google Sites, etc.
- Experience with or willingness to learn to collaborate virtually with colleagues
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, criminal justice, or related field from an accredited college or university
- Experience with litigation and employment matters at the agency level and in state and federal court. Knowledge of rules and procedures for electronic filing of documents in federal and state courts, including proficiency with PACER.
- Experience using legal research tools, such as LexisNexis or Westlaw
- Experience with the preparation of discovery materials and handling ESI

Schedule Note:
Type of Role: Contingent (This a 3 month position with the opportunity to be extended and with the possibility to be converted)
Hours: Standard hours (40 hours) Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Flexible)
Location: Hybrid (3 days in office 2 days remote)
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is $29.93 - $39.91/hr on W2
